Polyamory has been practiced by various cultures around the world for thousands of years. Current definitions of polyamory include:

“The practice, state or ability of having more than one sexual loving relationship at the same time, with the full knowledge and consent of all partners involved”;1 “the philosophy or state of being in love or romantically involved with more than one person at the same time”;2 “the state or practice of having more than one open romantic relationship at a time.”3
